Hiking? Buy a good rucksack: you'll probably get more than you pay for
A rucksack is second only to good shoes when hiking, points out the Swiss consumer mag Bon à Savoir in its July-August 2021 edition. Tests of 17 by the Austrian consumer magazine Konsument also found 10 of them offer space than they claim to give you. Top scorer: Deuter Trans Alpine 30, CHF118.
You can find cheaper among the top three: Jack Wolfskin's Moab Jam 24, CHF78.40.
How about a strappable duffel bag? You can get a good one for CHF55
Seven out 10 models tested by the Swiss mag didn't keep out the rain. But the second-rated, Forclaz Extend at decathlon.ch, was fine and only costs CHF55 compred to the top rated — and most expensive: Ochsner Sport Osprey's CHF159.90.
