Two proposals accepted, two rejected
The national vote on 14 June 2015 narrowly agreed to extend the CHF400 television and radio licence fee to all homes with internet-linked computers and to businesses as well as those with radios and televisions after a heated debate. The ratio was 50.1% yes to 49.9% no.
The electors approved pre-implantation genetic screening with 61.9%, bringing it into line with most other European states. A 71% vote rejected a nationwide inheritance tax (cantons still have their own rules), and even more strongly (72.5%) rejected national harmonization of student grants. Participation: 43.1%.
